Been to Israel before and looking for something unique and hands-on? Traveling with a group and looking to add more meaning to your trip? Then come experience nature with LOTEM.
Our outings enable visitors to experience the Land of Israel in a unique way and to witness how Jewish values of inclusion and acceptance are expressed in Israeli society. Outings include a guided hike on our inclusive trail in the KKL-JNF Nahal HaShofet Nature Park, the first fully accessible trail of its kind in the country. The forest walk will be led by one of our volunteers with special needs or soldier guides and will take you through streams, an accessible cave and wooded areas. You might even see some wild animals on the way. The next stop is a visit up the road to our ecological farm in Emek HaShalom, where the Land of Israel from ancient times comes to life through sight, smell and taste of nature. Activities include making grape juice in the only wheelchair accessible wine press in the world, baking pita bread with hand-picked herbs from a sensory garden and more.
During the winter months, we offer a festive olive harvest activity, where a sensory experience awaits you in the only fully accessible oil press known in the world. Harvest olives from trees, crush them into olive oil as our ancestors did in ancient times and finish off by making your very own clay lamps.
*All activities are wheelchair accessible and can be tailored to individuals with special needs
